Dry January Mohawk Valley Challenge 2026
The Dry January Mohawk Valley Challenge is a community-wide, month-long wellness experience designed to help people reset after the holidays, feel better physically and mentally, and be part of something meaningful right here in our region.
This January wellness challenge blends mindful drinking, wellness education, community support, and local business collaboration in a way that feels supportive, realistic, and rooted in connection.
Led by The Mindful Mixer and presented in partnership with Whitesboro Fit Body Boot Camp and Clinton Fit Body Boot Camp, this initiative brings together fitness, nutrition, mindset, and community care in one shared experience.
The Roots of Dry January
Dry January began as a community initiative in Finland in the 1940s. People took the entire month off from alcohol and donated the money they saved to local charities. At its core, it was about community wellness, personal reflection, and coming together for something bigger than ourselves.
The Dry January Mohawk Valley Challenge brings that original spirit to our region in a modern, approachable way that honors both personal wellness and collective impact.
What’s Included with Your $50 Registration
Your registration includes a full month of guided support, reflection, and connection:
• An official Dry January Mohawk Valley Challenge T-shirt, designed by Life Well Branded Co.
• Weekly emails with encouragement, wellness guidance, and simple, accessible mocktail recipes
• A weekly wellness focus using the RATE framework (Replace, Avoid, Temper, Elicit Help)
• A savings tracker to reflect on what you would have spent on alcohol
• Access to a private Facebook community for accountability and support
• An end-of-month celebration event with mocktails and a guided sipping ritual
• The opportunity to give back to the Center for Family Life and Recovery (CFLR)
This challenge is designed to support you whether you are fully alcohol-free or taking a more intentional, mindful approach.
Restaurant and Community Impact
Throughout January, select local restaurants will feature a Mindful Mixer Mocktail of the Week, with $1 from every mocktail sold donated to the Center for Family Life and Recovery (CFLR).
We are honored to have Vine & Fig on board as a restaurant sponsor, helping bring this experience to life in the community. We are seeking additional restaurant partners which will be highlighted throughout the month.
The challenge is also proudly supported by Mohawk Valley Living Magazine, helping amplify the reach of this initiative and spotlight the businesses and organizations involved.
Participants will also track their personal alcohol savings throughout the month and, at the end of January, can choose how to use that amount:
• Donate a portion to CFLR
• Reward themselves for their commitment to wellness
• Or do both
This approach supports personal empowerment while strengthening the broader Mohawk Valley community.

All registered Dry January Challenge participants receive 20% off membership at Whitesboro Fit Body Boot Camp and Clinton Fit Body Boot Camp throughout the month of January.
You do not need to be a Fit Body member to participate in the challenge. This is open to the entire community.

End of Month Celebration Event
On February 1, all participants are invited to a celebration event featuring:
• A welcome mocktail
• A guided mindful sipping ritual with a second mocktail
• Dry January Challenge T-shirt distribution
• A reflection on money saved and donated
• Breathwork led by Sally Davidson of Rooted Soul
Sally has traveled extensively around the world studying and teaching breathwork. Breathwork is an ancient practice that supports stress reduction, emotional release, and personal transformation. Participants are invited to approach the experience with openness, allowing the breath to support balance, clarity, and renewal.
This event is designed to bring everyone together to reflect on the collective impact of the challenge and celebrate what was created together.
